Cross Lanes Activity Centre
Cross Lanes Activity Centre (Bangor Road, Near Wrexham) runs residential courses for Key Stage 2 school groups.
When the centre is not operating for these groups, we offer some provision for people living close to the activity centre as detailed on this website. This provision is offered in response to requests made within the planning consultation process, prior to developing the Cross Lanes site.
The Teachers’ Lounge
As part of the Cross Lanes hotel conversion the bar has been removed, but our teachers’ lounge area is being made available, on Friday evenings during term time as detailed on this website, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
The teachers’ lounge only has seating for around 22 people and due to this very limited capacity we are only offering this Friday evening provision to residents living within 1 mile of the activity centre. All people living within a mile have had a card delivered to their house about this.
Any local residents who have received a card and would like to use this facility are asked to bring their own refreshments now as the premises are no longer licensed. Dates over the next 6 months on which the teachers’ lounge is available for use by local residents are as follows;
• Friday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th June
• Friday 6th, 13th and 20th July
• Friday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th September
• Friday 5th, 12th and 19th October
• Friday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th November
Indoor Activity Area available to book
We are also making an indoor activity area 13 metres X 11 metres available free of charge on Friday evenings during term time as detailed above, to a local club or group by advance booking only. This area could be made available over the period 4.30pm to 8.30pm (or for a shorter time period falling within these limits).

Activity sessions for local children on Fridays in June
Activity session will be run free of charge on Friday evenings in June for children who live within a mile of the activity centre. Children must be accompanied for these free sessions by a parent or guardian.
Activities will be offered as follows, over 3 consecutive Fridays, from 4.00pm to 6.00pm;
•Friday 15th June Zip Wire, Dungeon, Raft Building, Archery and Caving.
•Friday 22nd Climbing, Crate Challenge, High Ropes, Canoeing and Piranha Pool
•Friday 29th June Trapeze, Giant Swing, Archery, Quest and Night Line.
On these Friday evenings we would also be happy show people around the centre, if anyone would like to see the developments that have taken place.
Children interested in taking part in Raft Building and/or Canoeing and/or Piranha Pool should bring a change of clothes with them.
Facilities available for hire on Saturdays
The facilities offered free of charge on Friday evenings are also available for hire on Saturdays and Sundays, during school term time.
Facilities can be hire for agreed time periods;
•between 10am and 6pm each Saturday
•between 10am and 4pm each Sunday.
The normal rate for hire would be £15 per hour, but if a club/group was interested in an extended period of hire we would be happy to look to agree suitable reduced rates.
